We're entering our first full, four-day school week, and it's been fantastic to see our routines and systems coming together. I’ve truly enjoyed my classroom walkthroughs and am so impressed by the energy and dedication you’re bringing to our students. I can’t wait to see even more great teaching and learning in action this week. Let's keep up the momentum and continue making a positive impact together!
As we all know, educational technology plays a crucial role in enhancing student outcomes and addressing learning gaps. Over the years, we have utilized a variety of EdTech tools, and many have proven valuable in both student-centered and teacher-focused applications.
Currently, I am in the process of reviewing our EdTech subscriptions and their usage across the school. We've noticed some inconsistencies in the utilization of the programs we are paying for. Given our tight budget, it's important that we ensure we are investing in tools that are being actively used and are making an impact.
I are also, looking into a more comprehensive option with MobyMax, as it
To help us in this review, I kindly ask that you complete the K8 TechEd survey by Wednesday of this week. Your feedback will be instrumental as our Building Leadership Team evaluates and aligns our resources with the needs of our students and staff.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and for your continued dedication to providing our students with the best tools for success.
PLC Tuesday, 7:15
This week’s PLC time is designated for you and your teaching teams to meet to review and work on your current unit plans. To better support all teachers, I’m requesting that PLC meetings be held in groups by grade levels: pK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and student support teams. This approach will allow us to be more inclusive of our singletons. Of course, you can break into smaller groups as needed for more focused discussions.
CFA Data Analysis - ACTION NEEDED
It was wonderful to see all the great teaching and learning during my classroom visits last week. One visit, in particular, stood out when I saw students self-reporting their grades by creating bar graphs on a tracking form—an excellent way to encourage ownership of their learning! Great job, Mrs. Ashbrook.
As you prepare for your first formative assessment, please make sure to use the Data Analysis tool to track your results. This year, I will be using data from this tool for our board report, so I kindly ask that you share a copy of your Data Analysis with me by the end of next week.
Patient and kindness
The start of the school year is always filled with excitement, and it’s been wonderful to hear both students and staff express their joy in returning to the classroom. That said, we have encountered some challenges this fall, particularly with our high SPED numbers and students exhibiting behavioral concerns.
Our admin and support teams are actively reaching out to parents and previous schools as we work to develop appropriate support for our students. We understand that some of these situations are difficult, and we are committed to securing the right services to help. Please continue to communicate any concerns with the Special Education and student support teams.
As we navigate these challenges, let’s all focus on supporting one another and, most importantly, demonstrating kindness and care toward our students. Together, we can make a positive difference for each child.
Skyward Class Message Center
The Skyward Class Message Center is a tool that allows teachers to communicate with students and parents without sending written notes. Ms. Greene has found it to be very helpful in sending your weekly memo to families. It can be used to:
Send messages: Teachers can send messages to a class, individual students, or groups of students. Post documents: Teachers can share copies of course syllabi or other documents through Student and Family Access.
Set up automatic emails: Teachers can set up automatic emails to send when certain events occur, such as when a student's grade drops or they reach a certain number of tardies.
Preview messages: Teachers can preview who will receive a message and how many users will receive it.

The Walk to Interventions times will be adjusted in the mornings a bit to provide smaller groups for learners as the MTSS staff is extremely small in the mornings.
The MTSS staff will continue working on getting certified in reading and math interventions this week.
