I hope that everyone had a nice and relaxing Winter Break! I am excited to be back to school and look forward to greeting our students tomorrow morning.
Please make tomorrow a special day. Connect with your students and show them you care. It’s a great day to talk about goals and reestablish our routines.
Focus on Routine and Structures
The first week back from a long break can often be challenging! Our simple rules of being safe, respectful, and responsible easily fit every grade level in our building! Please review our student expectation matrix with your students during this week.

School Camera System and Vape Detectors
Our school board approved a new camera system and vape detectors. We are hoping to get these installed as soon as possible.
No Cell Phones in the Bathrooms
As students head to the bathroom, please make sure they either leave their cell phones at your desk. This is a district-wide expectation. Please help keep all students safe by enforcing this expectation.

Charger of the Month Assembly
This is a quick turnaround for our Charger of the Month assembly. Please select your student and be sure to invite the parents in.
Diane is home recovering from her knee surgery! Things are going well and she is hoping to be back in the building next week. I am certain the new granddaughter is the best healing medicine!
I will be working remotely Jan 3-5 as I recover from surgery. The following week, Jan 9-12, I plan to be in the building but will need kids to come to me as my knee continues to heal.
Reminders about benchmark assessments will come out Jan. 9 in preparation for the winter testing window.
A huge thank you to Mandy and Jen for helping get the problem-solving anchor charts completed and ready to display in K-5 classrooms!
Teach Students the Right Way to Wash Their Hands
Wet hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), and apply plain fragrance-free soap.
Lather hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Be sure to lather the backs of hands, between fingers, and under nails. The area under the fingernails typically has the largest concentration of germs on the hand and is the most difficult to clean.
Scrub hands for at least 20 seconds. Use handwashing songs, such as CDC's Happy Handwashing Song, to encourage complete handwashing.
Rinse hands well under clean, running water.
Dry hands using a clean towel, then turn off the tap.
