12 Days Left

Not that any of us are counting, but we have only 12 days left in this school year.  Let's make the most of our last few days.  Please find ways to celebrate your students…encourage and praise them for their hard work.

ABC Field Trip: ACTION NEEDED

By Thursday, please make contact with families of students who will not be attending the ABC field trip.  I want a phone call or text to be made home for all students being excluded, additionally, please be sure to send the following letter home: LETTER TEMPLATE

You will need to make a copy the letter, then add your name and share you master copy for me to sign. A call and a letter need to be sent home to all students being excluded from the field trip.

Due to some scheduling conflicts and a need to have male chaperones, the k-2 grades will take their Camas Field Trip on June 6th and the 3-5 grades will go on June 7th.  This is flip-flopped from our calendar.  Please make sure that your field trip parent volunteers and participants complete their volunteer paperwork.

Evaluation Meetings

Over the next two weeks, I will connect with all certificated and classified staff to review your end-of-year evaluation.  At this meeting, I'll share your evaluation and discuss a few topics/questions regarding school improvement.

I have a few more observations to complete this week and will do additional walk-throughs.

Please be sure to have your learning objectives and standards posted every day.  We want to finish this school year strong and make every day count.  Additionally, please maintain your planning books and/or lesson plans.  I have enjoyed seeing the detailed work that many of you are doing!

Finally, be sure to have your sub plans current.  Thank you.

Field Trips: Supervision and Volunteer Packets

One of our paramount duties as educators is to ensure that we keep our students safe at all times.

Student supervision is the most fundamental aspect of school safety. Field trips provide extra exposure and require excellent supervision. Group your students into smaller, more manageable groups to help improve supervision.  Always conduct regular "head counts" throughout your trip to ensure all participants are accounted for.

One safety system of extreme importance is the screening of volunteers. Before the field trip, all volunteers participating or attending must submit a volunteer packet to the district office for screening and approval. This includes those choosing to drive to the field trip.

Please stay out of the "gray area" by telling or implying to parents they can avoid completing the volunteer paperwork by showing up at the "public location" to join in the field trip.

Thank you for understanding and following this expectation.

MTSS Update

MTSS Roundtable Process

In order to support the PLC work, I have gone through FastBridge and looked at interventions, noting the Common Core standards they correlate. Under each standard ladder on the priority standard document, I listed assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring tools that match those standards in the notes section. As you continue to complete ladders, I will update them. I am sure we will notice gaps along the way. This information will help guide curriculum choices and additional intervention options.

I'll be emailing FastBridge log in information to grades 2-8 this week. Please check to make sure the list is accurate. I've done my darndest to update it according to homeroom but it's something of a moving target.
