Next Sunday is Mother's Day! Please think about having your students make a thoughtful card or item to send home. Let's be sure that we utilize CUPS and ARMS, as we make edits and revisions to send home the best work! Here are a few fun links to explore.
State Testing.
Please ensure your classroom is set up and ready for testing before students arrive. This includes having the proctor manual ready, test tickets, and the classroom prepared(seating arrangement, cover or removal of anchor posters, etc.)
Here is a link to our day-by-day SBAC Schedule. Please check in with me if you have any questions. Additional Links:

TA Certification (Completed by Cert 3-8 and Classified)
Learning Improvement Day
Maria Nielsen will be on campus this Friday to lead our PLC teams in implementing the 15-Day Challenge. We will start the morning with breakfast and appreciation and then move into the high school library.
Kindergarten and Pre-School Registration
Please encourage families with little ones to register their kindergarten and pre-school students.
Security Updates - ACTION / THANK YOU
I appreciate all certificated and classified staff jumping in to help make our recess supervision time safer. Our students can clearly see who is supervising and get help right away. This is a requirement for all staff supervising recess.
Health Presentations
It is the time in the year that we present our health-required curriculums. Nurse Sherri is sending out letters and will be hosting a parent preview night on May 23rd at 4:00 PM.
HIV/AIDS(5th to 12th Grade)
Growth/Development(5 & 6 Grade)
Character Strong/Purposeful People
With state testing, lots of stress can be built up for students. Character Strong has several enriching items that can help make our testing days more manageable and reinforce the social-emotional needs of our students. Check out this staff character dare:
MTSS Update
Mandy, Rebecca, and I had a great time (other than being evacuated from the 23rd floor of the Hilton) and learned so much at the PBIS Conference in Portland. We created a chart to track our takeaways and where we want to go with them. Much of the work will support our school improvement plan for next year and strengthen tier-one practices. I identified a promising reading intervention for older students (grades 4-9) that I am currently investigating. This thought came from keynote speaker Kurt Hatch
I believe that all FastBridge rosters are now correctly updated to reflect your homeroom classes; user names and passwords will be emailed prior to testing. I also updated data cards and will fill those out as testing is completed beginning on the 22nd. All of the headphones I ordered at the beginning of the year have disappeared, so I am unable to help in that area.
School Climate Surveys
As we prepare to complete the school improvement plan, we need to collect some guiding data. Please have your students complete the student version of the School Climate Survey
