Happy Monday Morning!
I have previously managed to get out of my past jury duties; however, I am not so lucky this time. I will report to the Stevens County House this morning at 8:30 AM. I hope this will only be a single day out of the building. Mr. McLain will be covering the K8 building in my absence. Thank you, Matt!
Friday's LID
Here is the link to the slide deck that Mike and I presented after lunch on Friday. We appreciated those individuals who walked us through their examples!
FastBridge Testing- Action Needed
Today starts our winter benchmark assessment window. We want the best data collected; ensure you are prepared for your selected testing day by having computers charged, tickets ready, headphones out, and scratch paper. During testing, maintain an organized, disciplined, and calm testing environment. Please be sure to record your FastBridge testing day and time on the Signup Document.
End of Semester
Wednesday, Jan. 24th, is the last day of 1st semester. Please be sure to get your grades submitted by 01.28.
ABC Field Trips
Thank you for coordinating the ABC field trips. The attendance and behavioral data will be compiled on Monday. Please review your class grades for the C portion of the incentive. I have modified our field trip permission form to include a student fee and donation section. Please explain this to your class and include it in your weekly memo.
Last year, we sent an ABC Field Trip Exclusion Letter home to students who did not attend. I have mixed feelings about this, as many students just choose not to attend school that day. I'll let you know if we move forward with this option again.
Charger of the Month - Action Needed
Our K-5 Charger Assemblies will be this Thursday.
K-2 @ 2:00 - 2:30
3-5 @ 2:30 - 3:00
Please be sure to email or call the parents/guardians of the student you are honoring for Charger of the Month. Bailey will hand out the Charger of the Month lighthouse forms today. Please get this back to her so she can print the certificates.
School Board Appreciation - Action Needed
We will have two items to present to our school board at the January board meeting. A student thank you card will be handed out later this week, and then I will have a short photo montage video to share. Please send me any exceptional pictures that highlight the great learning in your classroom!
Health Room
Nurse Sherri is out of the district this week. Chanel will be covering in her absences and we have the Wellpinit/Valley nurse on call for any major issues.
Counseling Corner
January's Character Trait is Perseverance: Pushing yourself to work through challenges and obstacles.
Middle school should cover sessions: 17-21 During January
This is a great month to practice goal setting for ourselves, and also for our students. Discuss ways to set short and long term goals, and ways to overcome challenges when they come.
Middle school students will register for their Third Quarter electives this week, be sure to look out for the Google Link. Please have all students take the time during advisory to fill out their first and second choices for 3rd and 6th period. All students need to take PE once.
