Happy Monday!
What a beautiful spring weekend it was. The warm temperature and sunshine have definitely brought out the greenery.
This past weekend proved to be quite productive for some K8 staff and students. Heather Gilchrest took a group of runners to participate in Jr. Bloomsday, while Antaun, Heidi, and I successfully completed the basic archery instructor course for the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Witnessing such enriching opportunities arise for our students is truly heartening.
Student Support Team, THANK YOU
Last Thursday, the Student Support Team did a fantastic job hosting the ScreenAgers video. This event kicked off with a spaghetti dinner and then the showing of the video ScreenAgers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. You can learn more about his film series at: www.screenagersmovie.com
SBAC and FastBridge Spring Testing
Our Spring Test is coming up in just two weeks. We will be conducting the FastBridge testing in the classrooms during the week of April 29th. Then, on May 6th, we will commence with our SBAC testing. To ensure that everything goes smoothly, please make sure that you complete the Test Administrator Certification, which is a 20-minute task, and provide Bailey with a copy of your certification by April 30th.

The schedules for both our LID and PLC were impacted by Spring Break. As we have recently had our LID, there is no need for another Staff Meeting in the near future. Instead, I kindly ask that you utilize tomorrow morning to focus on your PLC unit plans, CFA data analysis tool, and lesson interventions.

This week consider doing a 'Temperature Check' of your students as an entry task..
Have students write down the following:
1. Name
2. How they are doing on a scale of 1-5 and an option to explain why
3. 1 way you can support them this week.
Whether they are submitting electronically or on paper, be sure you keep the information confidential. Complete Temperature Checks once a week or as often as you can so you have a regular pulse of what is happening in your classroom and in your students' lives. If you identify a student is needing extra support, be sure to find time in your class that day to check-in with them individually or refer them to the school counselor if needed.
Please refer students ages 7-17 to Tammy at the Salvation Army camp for summer camp scholarships.
