Good Tuesday Morning
I trust you had a delightful holiday week and were able to take some time to reflect and honor the dedication of our military members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
Please take the time to thoroughly review today's memo, especially the upcoming events listed in the calendar. As we near the end of the school year, there are many important initiatives underway. I will be reaching out to everyone this week to discuss two crucial matters: 24/25 contracts and the summative evaluation. I am looking forward to our conversations.
Many of our students will be returning to school exhausted and tired after a very playful weekend, while others who stayed home will be eager to socialize and engage. Please be patient and understanding as we help our students transition back to school.
Have a great morning!
Please take note of the following information:
SBAC Test Makeup
Students who have not completed the state testing will be called out of class this week to complete testing in the K8 Conference room.
Help Ticket System (Action Needed)
To record technology and facility help tickets, please use the following link on the staff resource page: tinyurl.com/mwsdticket.
Instructional Rounds with Hugh Flint:
Hugh will be in our building over the next two days to learn about our school-wide implementation of PBIS. As we strive to improve the fidelity of PBIS implementation, Hugh and Jessica Swain from Northwest PBIS Network will be our instructional coaches next school year.
Cafetera Food
Please remind students that cafeteria food is not to be taken outside or back to the classroom unless teachers are supervising. We have had several situations where students have simply made messes with food or used it to throw at each other.
Mr. Anderson (Action Needed)
Mark is in Sacred Heart, recovering from a heart attack. He underwent a procedure to place several stents yesterday. It would be appreciated if you could send him a class card. Sam will be heading in at 10 AM today to share cards, and Bailey has a staff card in the office.
24-25 Contracts (Action Needed)
This week, I will be sharing the 2024-25 teacher contracts. All staff will need to sign to acknowledge receipt of their copy and then deliver a signed copy to the district office.
Summative Evaluation Meeting (Action Needed)
I will be connecting with staff this week to review observation notes and teaching and learning evidence and present summative evaluations. Please let me know if you have a specific prep period or before or after school time that you would like to meet.
BLT Meeting
The building leadership team will be meeting after school today to work on our 2024-25 School Improvement Plan and wrap up our K8 Building Schedule.
9th grade orientation
We have this set up with the high school that groups of two groups of five students will walk over to the high school together for roughly 30 minutes. They will be paired up with a high school leadership student, get a tour, talk with teachers and get some general information about high school and return back to our building.
PLC Tuesday (Action Needed)
Please use your PLC morning time on today to connect and collaborate with your teaching partner.
K8 Gym Remodel (Action Needed)
It is excited to see progress on the gym remodel. Here is the color scheme for the layout. Please share any thoughts, comments or suggestions.
MTSS Updates:
