K8 Staff,
This week is sure to be a fun week celebrating Dr. Seuss and reading! Below are some engaging activities and links to help with some classroom ideas.
The PLC Leadership team is out of the district through Thursday. Coach Vince will be filling in for me. He will be utilizing some of his time to do some math coaching and general check-ins. Please help by managing minor incidents in your classroom. Additionally, Ms. A will be checking in with some of our frequent fliers to give them some extra support.
Have a great week! I look forward to seeing some pictures that highlight Dr. Seuss Week.

Coach Vince in This Week
Please check your email for an email from Coach Vince. His goal is to meet with teachers for 20-30 minutes together to discuss your math planning, instruction, and student learning based on the mid-winter assessment data.
Dr. Seuss Week
One of the best places to find Dr. Seuss teaching resources is the author's personal website, Seussville. Produced by Random House, here you'll find a trove of great resources, including an interactive biography page, activities for Read Across America, The Cat in the Hat Learning Library, and plenty of lesson plans and printables for the classroom.
Family Night Out: Pi Night
Our next family night takes place on March 14th. With a theme of Pi, math game stations are welcomed! Please let me know if you are interested in helping. Looking for assistance with setup, games, and just connecting with families!
Student Access Days
March 3, 24, and 31st are student access days. Additionally, March 10th is our snow makeup day and March 17 is a LID day
Student Expectations
Thank you for the help with hallway access and phone use. Please continue to monitor our hallways and help our students to be safe, respectful, and responsible. Also, please use the hall pass when students are out of your classroom. The semester is a perfect time to review our PBIS rules and expectation posters.
MTSS Update
We just purchased new curriculum materials! Language for Learning (K-2) and Language for Thinking (1st-3rd) are research- based programs focused on developing language and vocabulary skills. They are delivered in a small group, direct instruction format. These programs will support our ELL students, as well as other primary kids who show a need in this area.
3rd Quarter Progress Report
Please send home a classroom mid-quarter progress report to each student on March 2. I know we just mailed home report cards; however, we are working hard to share the message that student learning is our top priority.
Charger of the Month Assembly
Our next Charger of the Month Assembly will be March 2nd, grades K-2 @ 2:00 - 2:30 and grades 3-5 @ 2:30 - 3:00. Please be sure to get your Charger of the Month cards to Tammy. Also, be sure to reach out to families.
Student Teacher Opportunity
Are you interested in hosting a student teacher in your classroom? Some benefits of hosting a student teacher include: mentoring a new professional, observing new pedagogical techniques, building a new perspective on your classroom, and having another person to bounce ideas off.
